Cost

Our club membership is £130.00 per annum payable in September each year, with a deduction if you join later. Junior and student members pay £65.00. In addition all memebers will need to join BSAC at a current cost of £45.50 per annum. BSAC membership includes dive insurance and a yearly subscription to DIVE magazine. (see their website for details).In addition new members will be charged an additional £ 34.50 for Ocean Diver training plus a starter pack from BSAC, which includes books, documentation etc, which costs another £40.00.

Consequently membership at current rates is £ 250.00 for your first year and £175.50 per annum thereafter. For those under 18 or still in full time education the first year membership is £185.00 and £110.50 thereafter.

When we go diving there is a charge of £7.00 per person per day to help maintain the boats, and we also add the fuel cost of the towing vehicle to the cost of boat fuel and divide that amongst the divers present. If he uses his own vehicle the driver of the towing vehicle is excused the £ 7.00 per day boat charge.

Equipment can be expensive when you start out, however the club does have a limited number of sets of kit which are used for training in the winter and these can be loaned to new members or infrequent diving members through the diving season. Should prospective members wish to know what a complete diving kit would cost them, Day's Diversified Services on (01792) 57977, are very helpful and can go through things with you. Don't forget second hand kit is always available.
