Welcome to Llwchwr Sub Aqua Club

Llwchwr Sub Aqua Club is based at the Loughor Boating Club where we meet on Friday nights around 8.00 pm during the spring and summer months. In the winter months between October and March we undertake our pool training on Sunday evenings between 8.00 pm and 9.00 pm at Pen -yr-heol Leisure Centre near Gorseinon and usually have our club meetings in the bar afterwards. LSAC is a BSAC affiliated club and was formed in 1985 and at present we have around 30 diving members. We also have a snorkeling section where youngsters can get BSAC snorkeling qualifications.

The club has two dive boats. The older one is a 5.5 metre Humber RIB with a 135 hp Mariner outboard engine. It has been a true and faithful servant over the years and is still in excellent condition. We have however been priveliged to receive a Sportlot grant which, besides allowing us to update our club equipment, has also allowed us to purchase a new boat from Picton Boats in Bridgend. This is a purpose-built 6.5 metre Cobra RIB

with a 150hp Mercury Optimax engine and is an absolute dream!

On most weekends during the summer, diving takes place either at various locations around west Wales, Skomer, Skolkholm, Ramsey, Milford Haven etc or else nearer to home around the Gower coast and we also try to go abroad as a club once or twice a year to places like the Red Sea, Lanzarote, Ireland, Cyprus etc.
